The University of Health Sciences sits inside Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City's 643-hectare campus in Di An City, just outside Ho Chi Minh City proper. Originally a health sciences school established in 2009, it was upgraded to a full public university status in 2024.
Along with Can Tho, it is one of only two government-run universities in the seven-university partner network, and was an early adopter in Vietnam of problem-based learning (PBL) — a modular, case-driven teaching style that shifts more clinical reasoning practice earlier into the curriculum.
