Dong A University’s 2026 international Doctor of Medicine announcement describes a six-year General Medicine programme in Da Nang, delivered in English, with a minimum academic threshold of 65%, an admission interview and net tuition listed at $4,500 per year after stated scholarship support. For an Indian student, that makes Dong A a serious document-checking option, not an automatic guarantee of admission, Indian registration or exam success.

Fees: what the official announcement says
Dong A's announcement dated 23 June 2026 lists annual tuition of $5,000, scholarship support of $500 per student per year and net tuition payable of $4,500 per year. It calculates six-year tuition after that support as $27,000. The fee is shown as fixed throughout the programme and collected semester by semester, with each semester's listed net payment at $2,250.
Treat the scholarship as a term in the university's written offer, not as a permanent assumption. Ask whether it applies to every year, whether attendance or academic conditions apply, and whether a student who changes intake or repeats a semester retains it. Confirm the bank beneficiary through an official university email or invoice.
Your full budget should also include:
- hostel or rented accommodation, deposit, utilities and meals;
- visa, residence formalities, authentication, translation and medical checks;
- flights, airport transfer, local travel, insurance and India visits;
- books, laptop, clinical instruments and phone or internet;
- currency movement, annual administrative charges and an emergency reserve;
- any separate internship, examination or licensing preparation expense.
Do not compare $27,000 with another university's tuition total unless both budgets use the same six-year assumptions and clearly state what is excluded.
Eligibility, subjects and the admission interview
The 2026 notice requires a foreign high-school or equivalent qualification recognised as at least equivalent to a Vietnamese upper-secondary diploma. The transcript must include one of these combinations:
- Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology;
- Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry; or
- Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
The notice also says the applicant must achieve at least 65% of the maximum possible score in the high-school graduation or equivalent examination. All applicants attend an admission interview. For an Indian student, the university will need to review the Class 12 certificate, marksheet, passport and the applicable authentication route.
English evidence can be an English-medium certificate, an academic transcript showing English as the teaching language, or an international certificate at least equivalent to IELTS 5.5 or Vietnamese B2. If that evidence is not available, the interview includes an English assessment. This is useful clarity, but it does not remove the need to ask whether the same language standard is used in clinical settings.
Is NEET required?
The current Dong A international announcement does not list NEET among its admission requirements. That is different from saying NEET is irrelevant to every Indian student. Separate the question into two parts:
- Does Dong A require a qualifying NEET result to issue this offer?
- What NMC and India-side conditions apply to the student's later licensing pathway?
Read the current NMC rules and regulations and FMGL FAQ. Ask the university or admissions office to put the answer for the exact intake in writing. A counsellor can organise documents, but cannot waive a regulator's requirements.
English-medium study and clinical training
Dong A's announcement says the international programme is entirely in English. The university's medical faculty page also lists hospital cooperation, including a 2026 cooperation agreement with Hue Central Hospital and clinical-learning material involving VinMec Da Nang. These are useful leads, but a news item is not a substitute for a student-specific clinical plan.
Before paying, request:
- the semester-by-semester curriculum and the year clinical postings begin;
- the legal names of teaching hospitals and affiliation documents;
- the number of supervised clinical hours and specialties covered;
- the language used for patient histories, consent, case sheets and ward instructions;
- the clinical logbook, internship or practical-training record issued at graduation;
- confirmation that international students receive the stated clinical access.
WDOMS currently records Dong A University College of Medicine as operational, with instruction starting in 2024 and a six-year programme. WDOMS is an important directory check, but it is not accreditation, endorsement or a guarantee of eligibility for Indian registration. Pair it with the university's legal status, curriculum, clinical affiliations and the NMC rules that apply to the student's cohort.
Hostel, Da Nang and student life questions
Da Nang is a coastal Vietnamese city with a large university population, but parents should evaluate the specific residence arrangement rather than rely on a city-level safety label. Ask for the current hostel address, occupancy, deposit, utilities, food access, curfew, visitor policy, security, emergency contact and travel time to clinical sites.
Also ask who helps with residence renewals, what happens when the hostel closes for holidays, whether rooms are guaranteed for all six years and whether students can move to approved private accommodation. A video tour and written residence terms are more useful than a generic campus photograph.
Application checklist for Indian families
Prepare a folder containing the passport, Class 10 and 12 records, subject marks, English-medium evidence, medical certificate, authenticated and translated documents, interview record, offer letter, tuition schedule, refund policy, curriculum, clinical plan and hostel terms. The 2026 notice says original documents must be submitted within 30 days of arrival and legal or administrative requirements must be completed by 31 December of the relevant academic year.

Counselling can help compare written offers; it cannot guarantee admission, NMC registration or future exam results.
When to pause before paying
Pause if the offer says MBBS while the university's document says Doctor of Medicine without explaining the equivalence, if the scholarship is verbal only, if the beneficiary account cannot be verified, or if the clinical and hostel arrangements are not written down. Also pause if a brochure promises recognition or pass rates without naming the responsible regulator and the exact rule.
