The safest MBBS in Vietnam admission plan is to begin three to six months before the intended September intake, shortlist universities against the student's Class 12 subjects and marks, confirm the university-specific NEET rule in writing, and keep payment and visa steps after the offer-letter checks. The timeline below is a planning framework for Indian families, not a promise of admission or visa approval.
Use the site's eligibility guide, university profiles and admission process together. A student should not choose a university only because an agent gives a low fee or says that admission is easy.
Month 1: check eligibility before choosing a university
Start with four questions:
| Check | What to confirm | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Class 12 | Physics, Chemistry and Biology requirements and minimum percentage | Each university sets its own academic screen |
| NEET | Whether a qualifying NEET score is needed at admission | Dai Nam is currently the partner-network exception in the local data |
| Age | Whether the student will meet the university's minimum age | The current partner profiles generally show 17 as the minimum |
| Indian pathway | Current NMC/FMGL conditions for a foreign medical graduate | Admission eligibility does not equal Indian registration eligibility |
The current partner data shows a meaningful spread. Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy lists an 80% minimum with Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology; UHS-VNU HCM and Cuu Long list 60% with Physics, Chemistry and Biology; Dong A and Buon Ma Thuot list 65% screens; and Dai Nam lists the relevant Class 12 science subjects while separately requiring a valid NEET score. These are local planning figures and should be checked against the university's current written intake notice.
The NMC rules and regulations page currently links the Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations and a June 2026 FAQ. The NMC's FMGL material includes conditions such as the required course duration, English medium, clinical training, same-institution internship, local registration or eligibility in the country of qualification, and the mandated Indian test. Read the official text for the student's admission year; do not rely on a counselling slogan such as “NMC approved”.
Month 2: prepare the application file
Prepare clear scans of the passport, Class 10 and 12 marksheets or provisional school records, transfer or school-leaving certificate, passport photographs, medical-fitness documents and NEET scorecard where required. Keep the student's name and date of birth consistent across every document. If a document is not in the university's accepted language, ask for the required translation, notarisation, legalisation or consular process before submission.
The application documents checklist explains why a complete file is more useful than a rushed file. Ask the university or its authorised admissions office to confirm whether it needs an English-medium certificate, police clearance, bank statement, health certificate or additional academic verification for the current intake.
Month 3: shortlist and request written answers
Compare no more than two or three realistic options first. Request, in one written exchange:
- the full six-year tuition schedule and currency;
- hostel price, room sharing, deposit, utilities and availability;
- teaching language by pre-clinical and clinical year;
- named teaching hospitals and the internship arrangement;
- refund, deferral and withdrawal terms;
- the university's current international-student checklist; and
- the visa, sponsorship and temporary-residence steps.
The fee structure is a useful orientation, but the invoice for the student's intake controls. Likewise, clinical training and internship should be checked against a written rotation and internship document, not just a hospital count.
Month 4: submit, review and wait for the offer
Submit the final file through the university's stated route and keep the acknowledgement. The local admission workflow describes an offer or invitation letter often arriving in 7-15 working days after a complete application, but that is an indicative processing window. Missing legalisation, inconsistent names, incomplete marksheets or a university's own review calendar can change it.
When the offer arrives, check the spelling of the student's name, programme title, intake, duration, tuition, hostel, payment deadline, beneficiary details and conditions. A message saying “seat confirmed” is not the same as a university-issued admission letter. Keep the written answer if a counsellor has interpreted the document for you.
Month 5: payment and immigration preparation
Use the fee payment and refund checklist before transferring money. Confirm that the beneficiary is the university or an explicitly documented authorised entity, and keep the bank advice, receipt and invoice together. Ask what happens if the visa is delayed, the student defers, the hostel is unavailable or the course conditions change.
For immigration, use the current Vietnam National Immigration Portal and the university's written sponsorship instructions. The correct route can depend on the programme, nationality, university and current rules. The student-visa arrival guide is a checklist, not a replacement for the university or official immigration authority.
Month 6: final pre-departure checks
Before booking travel, confirm the visa or entry document, passport validity, university contact, airport pickup, hostel address, insurance, emergency numbers and original-document file. Share copies with a parent and keep a secure digital backup. Ask how the student will complete temporary residence registration after arrival and who is responsible for each step.
At this stage, also revisit the English-medium and clinical-language guide. English teaching does not remove the practical need to understand how Vietnamese is used with patients and hospital staff. Ask for the curriculum and language support details by year.
If the student's Class 12 result or passport is delayed, do not fill the gap with guessed information. Tell the university what is pending, ask whether a provisional file can be reviewed, and record the deadline for the final document. A transparent delay is easier to manage than an application submitted with mismatched names, altered scans or an undocumented promise that a missing requirement will be waived.
A simple readiness checklist
The application is ready to move forward when the family can answer “yes” to these questions:
- Are marks, subjects, age and NEET status matched to a named university?
- Has the university accepted the exact documents in writing?
- Is the programme duration and teaching language documented?
- Are tuition, hostel and refund terms itemised?
- Are clinical hospitals and same-institution internship questions answered?
- Are WDOMS and the relevant Vietnamese quality or regulatory records being checked without treating a directory listing as an endorsement?
- Are the visa, residence and arrival responsibilities clear?

Admission thresholds, NEET treatment, fees, payment accounts, hostel capacity, immigration procedures and NMC requirements can change. This guide uses the site's partner-university data and official NMC and Vietnam immigration resources available on the date above. Reconfirm the exact intake documents and regulatory position before payment or travel.
If you want a profile-based review, use the contact page or the WhatsApp counselling flow. Share the student's marks, subjects, NEET status and preferred budget. Counselling can organise questions and documents; it cannot guarantee admission, visa approval, NMC registration or examination outcomes.
